Ok folks, so I realize that it has been awhile since the last time that I have posted!!  I have been super busy putting together this amazing event that we will be hosting at #Genesee Community College this weekend.

As you all know, I have been going to #New Orleans and the #Southern Louisiana areas for almost two years helping with the rebuilding efforts and becoming better educated on the #wetlands loss and the #BP oil spill.  We have created an event that will not only educate and bring awareness to what is happening in the #NOLA and #Southern Louisiana areas but also create an almost “#Mardi Gras” type of experience as all the attendees will be able to enjoy a ‘Taste of New Orleans,’ #Zydeco dance lessons (provided by #Rich Newman and #Amy Burns), and some great music from #Mumbo Gumbo–New Orleans Funk–and #LeeRon Zydeco and the Hot Tamales!!

The monies that we bring in for this event will be put to great use…part of the funds will be going to the #Episcopal Community Services of LA and #Bayou Grace Community Services (shhhhhhh, they don’t know that yet!!) and the remainder will be put into a scholarship fund for our students at #GCC that are going with us this year for our #Genesee Community College Alternative Spring Break Program!!
Please visit our webpage #http://www.genesee.edu/gcc/neworleans/ for more information and to preorder tickets online …or you can purchase tickets at the #Genesee Community College Box Office and also on Saturday starting at 7:30am!  Would love to see you there!! =)
You won’t regret it!!!
